The Postojna Cave, near our Idrijca River destination, is the most captivating cave in the world and the largest show cave in Europe. Visitors ride an underground train to tour this stunning 14-mile long cave!
With a depth of over 650 feet and a river running through it, the Skocjan Cave system is another famous natural wonder that is sure to delight!
Slovenia is rich with history. Castles dating back to the first century can be found throughout the country. The Predjama Castle is one of the world's most fascinating castles, perched in the middle of a rocky cliff near our Unica River destination.
The Gewerkenegg Castle near our Idrijca River destination is an interesting site dating back to the 1500s and Bled Castle near the Radovna River will take you back to the year 1004!
Waterfalls are abundant throughout this lush country. The Savica Waterfall is the third most visited waterfall in all of Slovenia. This unique fall splits into two streams in the hidden underground. The waterfall is 256-feet high. The Savica Fall is near our Radovna River and Sava Bohijnka destination waters.
The Virje Waterfall and the Kozjak Waterfall in the Soca Valley are also quite magical!
The only park in Slovenia, this picturesque park does not disappoint! It encompasses one of the most beautiful parts of Slovenia, stretching over the Julian Alps. If hiking is your thing, this is the place for you! You'll see gorges, waterfalls, beautiful passes, and much more.
There are lots of easy day hikes to choose from as well as some more challenging hikes and multi-day treks. A few 'must see' spots include: Mount Triglav, Seven Lakes Valley, Lake Bohinj, Bohinj Alpine Pastures, Pokljuka, and Vršič Pass.
Visit the world's largest Lipizzan stud farm! There are over 300 white Lipizzan horses across 740 acres of green space on this expansive farm. These beautiful horses are one of the oldest cultural horse breeds in Europe and the world. They are bred for beauty and haute ecole, a highly stylized form of classical riding.
Visits to the stud farm include unlimited access to the grounds, up-close views of the horses, guided tours, and riding shows.

The Mercury Mine in Idrija is the second largest mercury mine in the world. Get a dose of local history here. According to legend, mercury was discovered here in 1490 by a wooden tub maker and changed the lives of the people of Idrija. Explore the mine and hear all about the history and everyday mining life.
